Let's Exercise!!

Had been watching a talk show and the guest mentioned that
Thailand's commercials are creative.

My first reaction was of course "Youtube" commercials from Thai!

Here's one that I really found it funny and cool!

And once again I realized that it's important to practice imagination
and wrote down whatever weird ideas in our mind.

So many ideas we saw in commercials and advertisings are familiar
and some of us must been thought of.

It's important to come up with good ideas,

and it's more important to put them in good use!

I care about:
What ideas had been in your mind that you care to mention?
Do you regularly relate your ideas to real life?

Habit 1 says,
“you‘re the creator. You are in charge.”
Habit 2 is
the first or mental creation- to envision, to see the potential. [P146]

Habit 3, then, is
the second creation,
the physical creation,
practicing effective self-management. [P147]

The 4th human endowment,
independent will,
makes effective self-management possible.
Independent will is to be a function of your values
rather than a function of the impulse or desire of any given moment.
Independent will
is the power to act with integrity to your proactive first creation. [P147-149]

New generation of time management:
organize and execute around priorities;
deal with things that are not urgent but important
- long time investment in productivity capacity;
e.g. building relationships, writing a personal mission statement, exercising, preparation, … [P149-158]

The enemy of the “best” is often the “good.”
Even the urgent is good, the good can keep you from your best.
Learn to say “no”, with a genuine smile, to the unimportant. [P156-158]

Moving to IMPORTANT but NOT URGENT:
Balance: success in one area can NOT compensate for failure in other areas of life.
Focus on Prevention: not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.
People Dimension: think of efficiency in dealing with time, effectiveness in dealing with people.
Flexibility: your planning tool should be your servant, never your master.
Portability: important data is always within reach. [P160-162]

Becoming a Self-Manager:
1, Identifying Roles;
2, Selecting Goals;
3, Scheduling;
4, Daily Adapting. [P162-168]

Stewardship Delegation
means a job with a trust.
“Trust in the highest form of human motivation. It brings out the very best in people.”
[P173-179]

Every one deals with fundamentally important things that, if done on a regular basis, would make a tremendous positive different in our lives.

[Personal notes from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People –Stephen R. Covey]

Being concrete takes courage.
You may offense someone by making your point too clear.
Clear ideas are not acceptable to everyone simply because

people have different ideas!

People have their own standpoint toward things!

For that reason,
most people are trying so [too] hard to be “polite” and “nice”
and fix themselves into the norm.
We have to face the reality that
the norm is more complex and diverse than we think of.

Saying things to please everyone = saying nothing
[if it’s not worse].

Don’t be afraid to be yourself and stand out.
Tell exactly what your position is, what’s inside your mind.
The world /the market has too many people that
we shouldn’t bother to please all.

I care about:
Did you try to agree with ideas simply because
you were afraid to offense others?
Do you think you can actually be appreciated by telling your view?
Do you have the courage to expose yourself?

Today is my day-off.
I have stayed home and tidied up my stuff.

Not the tangible stuff but files in my laptop:
categorizing school work, pictures, music, writings...
And I had also scheduled a weekly timetable:
to plan out exercise schedule, time for study, time for reading,
to regularize eating habits, and to spare time to blog.
The schedule is not fixed
but I am going to push myself to prioritise weekly activities.
It is just so often that I can sit in front my laptop and spend a day
without doing anything meaningful.

Physically organized prevend the outside becoming a mess;
mentally organized prevend our inside becoming a mess.
Remember:
Put 1st things 1st!

I care about:
Do you push yourself to finish tasks with high priorities?
Do you spend too much time if not all on unimportant things?

Had been skipping posts recently.
Started to make up execuses for myself:

"I have nothing to wirte about today."
"I am so busy for school and have no time to blog."

Blogging is like exercising.
It's hard to start [for many people],
& it's hard to keep it as a habit at the beginning.
But we all know or else should realize:
they are good for us!

Exercise your physical wellness,
exercise your brain
& exercise your mind regularly.

You will be amazed how every area of your life improved
after good habits are developed.

I care about:
Do you exercise regularly? or occasionally?
Do you exercise physically? mentally? spiritually?
or you exercise all three area regularly?
if so, CONGRAT! & keep the habit!

Special-
particular good; exceptional;
OUT of the ORDINARY

Different-
unlike; DISTINGUISHABLE in nature, form, or
QUALITY

Don't be SPECIAL, be DIFFERENT

we don't have to stand out to be good
we can be approachable
standing in the crowd
but still distinguishable

EXCELLENCY is influential & can never be alone

I care about:
How do you differentiate yourself from the rest?
How do you apply your uniqueness within your influential area?

Life is...

[picture from JPG]

life is a gift, accept it

life is a mystery, unfold it

life is a puzzle, solve it

life is a song, sing it

life is a beauty, praise it

life is a game, play it

life is a promise, fulfill it

life is a goal, achieve it

life is an opportunity, take it

life is an adventure, dare it

life is a duty, perform it

life is a challenge, meet it

life is a struggle, fight it

life is a sorrow, overcome it

life is a tragety, face it

life is a journey, complete it

[Calligraphy by Anton Hostovecky '87]

I care about:
What does life mean to you?
& What is life to you now?
Are you walking toward or away from your goals in life?

To me:
Life is loving, helping and sharing,
I am working on having a better life of mine & others',
the way I define love, however,
is constantly changing.
I don't help and share in the same way as I did,
and I do them differently to different people.
The bottom line is,
I always strive to love more,
and I do more to love.

Wendy's Win/Lose Strategy

Posted In: , . By Ally

Branding is always about creating a unique image that can
seperate a brand from the rest.
Differentiation, however, mean NOT either survival or death.

Wendy's strategies are often fighting with its competitors.

I don't think this is a good way to put things-
fighting and thinking of our success is at the price of others' failures.
I believe that people can sense the competition,
and this reminds consumers how the other brand is doing.
Such in this commercial, Wendy's slogan -"More Than Just Fries",
instead of emphasizing on Wendy's different options for side dishes,
we probably also think about how tastier McDonald's fries are compared to Wendy's.

We have to learn to let go,
let people love the other options.
And instead of fighting with the limiting rival,
we have to believe that the potential are unlimited.
So that we focus on being the best in our specialist.

We have to let go of the believing in Win/Lose,
and put strong confidence in Win/Win.

I care about:
How do you define success?
How willing are you to help others to succeed?
Do you feel successful when you help others to succeed?

There's someone so enemy/ hatred-centered
who can hardly control her/himself from self-pitying
who's in a reactive position
& whatever happened wrong
it's always other people's respondibility
she/he thinks negatively
& blames everything except her/himself making her/his life a tragedy

at the end of the day
we'd just found out that hatred doesn't do us any goodness
but digs us into miserable life

I doubt anyone who truly enojoys to hate
it's never too early /too late to realize that
it's time to eliminate hatred from our life

life is never a pity unless you think it is
& no one should ever make her/himself a pity

Jenny is not just a imaginary character
she's a reflection of life
I care about:
How often do you take responsibility of your life?
How ofter do you blame on others?

Learnt some cool stuff from Brand Autopsy
http://brandautopsy.typepad.com/brandautopsy/2005/04/lessons_learnin.html

· Failure is an Option
-Failure happens, mistakes happen.
Learn from failures and mistakes.
[If we can't avoid failure, we avoid to repeat them]

· Practice Passionate Followership
-Not everyone can be a leader all the time.
Learn to be a passionate follower.
Everyone leads helping to make the best scene possible.

[Learn to open our mind and learn from people]

· Don’t Act, React
-Learn to be a better listener
and thus a better reactor.
[Listen with empathy, we don't gain trust
unless the other party is willing to trust us]

· Go with your Gut
-Performers must make lightening-fast decisions based on
who they are, where they are,
and what they are doing
.
[The best decison is based on situation not history]

· Don’t be a Blockhead
-Discard yeah-but negative thinking
for the much more positive, trusting, and less ego-driven approach of thinking
yes…and.
[Approve others' points of view, THEN express yours]

· Trust Others
-Trust is critical to making things happen.
[Trust first, THEN seek to be trusted upon]

· Make Others Look Good
-
You are more successful when you
make others look good.

[Winning the situation is nothing compared to winning the people]

I care about:
Do you pay enough attention to people?

Do you listen with empathy?
Do you seek to understand?
Do you react with trust?
